A wine one must note (the Touring Club wine guide “Vini Buoni d’Italia“ 2009).
It comes from a cru (Italian: sottozone or menzione) from Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the Barolo region.
The grapes which grow in the vineyard located to the south east yield a wine with a fine, prominent bouquet and an excellent texture: an elegant and exquisite partner for the demanding palate.
Its highly balanced character makes it a Barolo which is ready immediately after the traditional ageing period of three years in an oak vat, where it acquires its typical tannins and aromas.
Meat-based dishes and medium-mature cheeses bring out its drinkable character.
